Laser Cutting for Stainless Steel Aluminum Brass Plastic Parts
Laser cutting is a process that uses a laser to cut different materials for both industrial and more artistic applications, such as etching. It is a non-traditional machining method that uses an intensely focused, coherent stream of light called a laser to cut through the material. On the other hand, laser drilling is another type of laser machining process that produces a hole through the workpiece achieved by different techniques.
It can used to cut brass, stainless steel, steel(carbon steel, mild steel...), aluminum, plastic(PMMA, POM...) etc material. But not recommend to cut the ABS or PC material by laser cutting. While there are some laser cutters that can cut material as thick as 20 mm, most machines work on materials closer to 0.5-12 mm thick, depending on what's being cut.
The advantages of laser cutting are flexibility, precision, repeatability, speed, cost-effectiveness, great quality, contactless cutting, versatility and automation possibilities.
