This is a blind hole, that is, BSO type.
The bottom hole of the tooling is designed according to the cylindrical size of the pressure riveting nut (ie C size), which is slightly larger than the C size. For example, if you need to press a BSO-3.53-6 stud, the C size of this stud is 5.38-0.1, then The size of the hole here is 5.4+0.08. The hole depth is not lower than 6.0mm (in fact, considering that threaded posts of other lengths can also be used in the future, this hole is recommended to be a through hole).
SO type through hole studs are the most commonly used type, and the surface is mostly made of 3Cr+ blue and white zinc environmentally friendly electroplating. Pressure riveting studs are divided into through holes and blind holes, and through-hole studs are divided into through-hole half-tooth and hole full-tooth according to user requirements, namely:
SO: Through hole stud (not necessarily through thread, please pay attention to the size standard in the table below)

The pressure riveting studs produced by our company are strictly controlled with thread pass and stop gauges, and the size is strictly controlled. The toothless rate is less than 10PPM. SO4/BSO4/SOO4 pressure riveting stud material: SUS416
Of course, there is also a type of pressure riveting studs made of aluminum (6063-T6), ending with "A", such as SOA. This type of studs that our company does rarely will not be introduced here.
