Polishing skills of acrylic sheet
After polishing, the acrylic plate is transparent and bright, and the light transmittance can reach more than 92%. It is usually used in the processing and production of various display racks and boxes. Polishing the worn acrylic sheet can prolong its service life. Common polishing techniques for acrylic sheet include the following: flame polishing, cloth wheel polishing, diamond polishing, and manual polishing.
1. Acrylic board flame polishing
Flame polishing mainly uses high temperature to process acrylic panels. Acrylic panels that are polished by flames are translucent, beautiful but not fine enough, and are mostly used for artistic crystal word polishing. Flame polishing is fast and convenient, but requires high skills for workers in operation, and a little carelessness will cause damage to the finished product.
2. Acrylic board cloth wheel polishing
When polishing through the cloth wheel machine, first apply the polishing wax evenly on the cloth wheel machine, and the workers can perform different degrees of polishing treatment for different parts of the acrylic plate. The cloth wheel machine is relatively safe to operate, and the operation is simple. Workers can adjust it in real time according to the specific polishing situation. It is mostly used for products with high quality requirements such as handicrafts.
3. Diamond polishing
Diamond polishing machine is more than using water-type polishing. Diamond polishing machine has high polishing efficiency and good effect. For large-scale acrylic product polishing, diamond polishing machine can be used for processing. It is worth noting that you can check the diamond knife and adjust the size before each use.
4. Manual polishing
Manual polishing can be used for the fine positions that the above 3 kinds of machines cannot reach. The manual polishing is relatively slow and suitable for high-quality fine parts polishing.
Precautions:
Generally speaking, the polishing of acrylic board is to add polishing wax to the worn part, and the polishing wax is evenly covered on the worn part through the polishing treatment. Theoretically speaking, polishing is different from cutting in that there will be no dimensional changes. However, the thickness and size of the acrylic board may change if the polishing treatment is concentrated on one point. Therefore, it is recommended to perform uniform treatment during manual polishing.
