How many grades are there for the surface roughness of mechanical parts? What is from low to high?
The grade of surface roughness is divided into 14 grades, as follows:
Surface roughness level 14 = Ra 0.012 Surface roughness level 13 = Ra 0.025
Surface roughness level 12 = Ra 0.050 Surface roughness level 11 = Ra 0.1
Surface roughness level 10 = Ra 0.2 Surface roughness level 9 = Ra 0.4
Surface roughness level 8 = Ra 0.8 Surface roughness level 7 = Ra 1.6
Surface roughness level 6 = Ra 3.2 Surface roughness level 5 = Ra 6.3
Surface roughness level 4 = Ra 12.5 Surface roughness level 3 = Ra 25
Surface roughness level 2 = Ra 50 Surface roughness level 1 = Ra 100
1. Surface roughness refers to the small spacing and small peak and valley unevenness of the processed surface.
Tool marks in the machining process, plastic deformation during cutting separation, friction between the tool and the machined surface, and high-frequency vibration of the process system are all causes of surface roughness. The stability of the mating properties, the fatigue strength of the parts, the corrosion resistance of the parts, and the sealing properties of the parts are affected.
2. The main reasons for the formation of surface roughness are:
1) Tool marks during processing;
2) Plastic deformation during cutting separation;
3) The friction between the tool and the machined surface;
4) High-frequency vibration of the process system.
