Laser Cutting Machining Service:

The laser cutting process uses the energy released when a laser beam hits the surface of the steel plate to melt and vaporize the stainless steel. The laser source generally uses a carbon dioxide laser beam with a working power of 500 to 2500 watts. This level of power is lower than that required by many electric home heaters, but, through lenses and mirrors, the laser beam is concentrated in a very small area. The high concentration of energy enables rapid localized heating to vaporize the stainless steel. In addition, because the energy is very concentrated, only a small amount of heat is transferred to other parts of the steel, resulting in little or no deformation. The laser can be used to cut billets of complex shapes very accurately, and the cut billets do not need to be further processing.

Laser cutting process is divided into:

1. Vaporization cutting:

Under the heating of the high power density laser beam, the surface temperature of the material rises to the boiling point temperature quickly enough to avoid melting caused by heat conduction, so part of the material vaporizes into steam and disappears, and part of the material is ejected from the bottom of the slit by the auxiliary gas Flow blows away.

2. Fusion cutting:

When the power density of the incident laser beam exceeds a certain value, the inside of the material at the point where the beam is irradiated begins to evaporate, forming holes. Once this pinhole is formed, it acts as a black body to absorb all the incident beam energy. The small hole is surrounded by a wall of molten metal, and an auxiliary gas stream coaxial with the beam then removes the molten material around the hole. As the workpiece moves, the small hole moves synchronously in the cutting direction to form a kerf. The laser beam continues along the leading edge of this slit, and the molten material is blown away from the slit in a continuous or pulsating manner.

3. Oxidation melting cutting:

Fusion cutting generally uses inert gas. If oxygen or other active gas is used instead, the material is ignited under the irradiation of the laser beam, and undergoes a violent chemical reaction with oxygen to generate another heat source, which is called oxidative fusion cutting.
