Purple copper is industrially pure copper with a melting point of 1083°C, no isomeric transformation, and a relative density of 8.9g/cm3, five times that of magnesium. The mass of the same volume is about 15% heavier than ordinary steel. It is generally called purple copper because it has a rose-red color and is purple after the formation of oxide film on its surface. It is copper that contains certain oxygen, thus it is also called copper with oxygen. Its impurities are oxidized and discharged, the amount of solid solution is reduced which is conducive to the electrical conductivity of copper, and can also eliminate the impact of harmful impurities, but purple copper is prone to brittle cracking in the reducing atmosphere above 370°C (known as hydrogen disease). T1, T2, T3 copper grades in China are T1, T2, T3, of which a large number of T2 copper.
