Brass is divided into: brass, bronze, purple copper, and white copper. Due to the influence of the environment, brass surface will appear different degrees of oxidation, so it also needs to be surface protection treatment in order to maintain its long-term bright as new appearance and corrosion and oxidation resistance performance. That requires the use of a variety of different brass surface treatment processes.
Commonly used brass surface treatment processes are as follows.
1, brass bright cleaning: mainly brass surface stains, impurities, spots, oil stains and other dirt after thorough cleaning, restore the brass itself bright color. Is also a necessary process before brass passivation.
2, brass passivation: the role of passivation we all know is mainly anti-oxidation, corrosion resistance. Because brass is an active metal, in the wet or special environment, especially easy to oxidation of long spots, and even the phenomenon of brass green. Therefore, brass passivation treatment is one of the very necessary processes. It can effectively protect the surface of copper parts.
3, anodic oxidation: brass parts as the anode, the use of electrolysis to form the surface of the oxide film. The oxide film changes the surface state and properties, such as surface coloring, improve corrosion resistance, enhance wear resistance and hardness, and protect the surface of copper parts.
4、Electroplating: The purpose of electroplating is to coat the brass substrate with a metallic coating that changes the surface properties or size of the brass substrate. Plating can enhance the corrosion resistance of brass, increase hardness, prevent wear, improve electrical conductivity, smoothness, heat resistance and surface aesthetics.
5, brass chemical polishing: will have been brass parts directly immersed in brass chemical polishing solution, so that it quickly reach a bright as new beautiful color, while quickly remove the surface oxides, the surface size will have a corresponding change, but can be artificially controlled. After carrying out chemical polishing treatment of brass parts need to be passivated as soon as possible to prevent its oxidation and discoloration again.
